Pfeg (Personal Finance Education Group) provides teaching support to build money management knowledge and skills by using real life examples.
Young people start to make financial decisions very early in life. This is seen in how they spend their pocket money and even how they choose the best deal on a mobile phone. Later in life, they will encounter many more monetary transactions – Pfeg's lesson plans and workshops are designed to both guide them and offer them safeguards when making these future financial decisions.
The scheme works in partnership with teachers from schools and colleges to integrate personal finance sessions into weekly lesson plans, and provides the resources to support ongoing learning.
After taking part in the activity and observing the reaction of the young children, the Sofronie team feels that this support should also be offered to those that have found themselves outside of the mainstream education sector.
PFEG is part of Young Enterprise.
